Mike comes from an extensive maintenance background while serving in the US Coast Guard for 10+ years as a Maintenance Supervisor and Lead Project Manager for converting General Aviation maintenance facilities into FAA certified 145 Repair Stations, as well as conducting quality assurance audits of the shop, staff and records. His duties included the maintenance planning, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, and organization of 14 MH-65D helicopters, in various locations around the country. Including the National Capital Region Air Defense ready alert facility where he was in charge of maintaining a 24/7 scramble posture ready to launch on a moments notice to intercept aircraft violating the No Fly Zone around Washington, DC and forward deployments wherever POTUS and various other VIP’s traveled.
Mike also has over 700 flight hours as a pilot, and crew chief in various aircraft. Conducting Search and Rescue missions, Air to Air Intercept operations, and flying for pleasure.
